Its the thought process that baffles me. "Think I'll stick my finger in it and see what happens" ?!?

That makes sense, a bit like this ?DougieJ wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 21 8:37 pm Given how much we are all in awe of what you are doing here I really hesitate to offer anything with any kind of authority as it is totally different to my own engineering background (civil). However, it does remind me of something that I do know about.
That's a really wide splay to get to the outer inlets. Much like a really wide panorama being taken on a flat plane camera (aspect ratios 3+:1). In that situation you need to play with the light so that the same amount gets to the outer edge of the film as gets to the middle by using a filter that is darker on the centre spot and graduates out getting lighter as it goes (i.e. stops some of the light going straight through the middle of the lens to let the rays travelling further at the outer edges have a matching effect).
I don't know if what amount to pressurised boxes also work along those lines but it sort of seems analogous to my mind and might explain some of the channel type forms that you get in inlet manifolds and the like to swirl the fuel and air around. Given that analysis of that sort of thing is going to be quite a task - what could be an option if it is analogous (and as I said I'm far from certain on this) would be a sort of reverse collector arrangement that you get on headers - similarly trying to keep pathways an equal length???
This could all just be the ramblings of a fool but hopefully it makes some kind of sense!
As with everyone else - really do admire what you are doing and cannot describe how much in awe I am of what you are doind and how much I look forward to seeing this develop.

Oh go on then. I will have a go. 300mph you say ?
Haha - as if. I hardly dare open this thread !! But I cant wait to come see this thing for real. I know you must be sick of it Will, but ‘wow’ ! Of course you won’t “know” if the computer lied until you run it I guess ! Eek !

Your cad/wind tunnel rider seems to have a standard helmet and suit - where race bike riders now have both wind deflectors on the helmets and humps on the suits. Would this make any difference to your modelling?
Re: Fifty shades of Jade
Is that for Aero ? Or is it like the hans device; stops the neck snapping backward in a crash ?

:
Even with the very large helmet scope and back hump surprisingly we only see a very slight 1.5% change in Drag coefficient

Threw together with scrap an intake plenum and turbo-up pipe.
This system has no charge cooling or intercooler but hopefully making the system simpler will get down the track faster.

Re: Fifty shades of Jade
Can the guys doing the body surfacing not do anything with the wheel opening?
I don’t know how close you are sticking to SCTA wheel exposure rules for partial streamlined, so it might be a non starter, but I’d be looking to something in that area just looking at it.

I am coming to believe a 56mph speed record is harder to achieve than a 400mph one!
