so whats special about it then? was it used in the series anywhere, i thought all/most of them were trashed no survivors

to be honest im not keen on lee's i think they have done a great job raising the profile on american cars in the uk, its the same with ford torino's that are starskied surely they are only worth something if they were original ones from the series otherwise dont you look and feel a bit of a plonker driving a clone?

its the same as ricers with their fancy body kits, big bore exhausts, tinted windows etc etc but only got a 1.2 ltr engine - looks the part but isnt

id rather look at a pukka original yank than something thats cloned

Schneider was going on about how it was the last proper General Lee from the series so it may have been used in one of the last episodes maybe? Or one of those tacky tv movies in the 90's, here's part 3

darren you are correct each to their own, i was coming from the perspective of:
hi mate nice car, what is it,
its a 69 dodge hemi charger,
was it used in the dukes of hazzard shows?
nah had it painted here in the uk, it used to be black with 383

thats what i mean by the correlation between that and a ricer they mod cars to look superfast and something there not, from my point of view i would be embarrassed to be in that situation, obviously some arnt

i appreciate that some lee-ers have/will spend a great deal of time effort and money on making their car a exact copy of the general lee, that is their prerogative and im sure there are many reasons for this i.e film work, weddings shows etc etc

apologies if ive offended anyone with my comments, any yank is a good yank even if it is lee'd or starskied

Yeah...to each his own...
but I cant help feeling that driving round in a general lee is not really any different to those people who dress up as characters from star trek....

If we all like the same thing Dodge, the world would be a pretty boring place...I'm not a fan of GL's but I'd rather see a GL Charger than no Charger at all! :thumbright:

This debate goes on and on.

Quite frankly with some of the cars I've seen owned on this forum I wouldn't want to be seen dead in or use as a Bananarama! house as I'm sure a lot of you would agree if you were honest...........................But the moment someone posts a picture of said shed I don't see members on here slagging them off.

Why? Because each to their own given personal budget etc.

I run a GL and I reckon it's a giggle....all the kids and their parents love it too from ALL walks of live.

I also own a 440 68 Charger and I know wich one gets the most positive attention.

Now can we move on.
