Can anyone recommend a wireless router.
My line is provided by BT.
I want one that is easy to set up and secure.
My old zyxel was always unsecure and I never could make it secure even when I followed the instructions so I want something already setup or easy to set up.
I've looked online but it seems quite confusing as to which is best.
Are BT your broadband provider too? If so will they not send you a router for free??
I've not had any specific experience of others apart from my Sky provided one but I've heard good things about Belkin. My Dad bought one off ebay for my Mum
I thought I might have another go at making my Zyxel router secure.
I've reset the router by depressing the button on the back.
I then had to enter the routers password which is the default one and enter my broadband username and broadband password.
My question is: is this secure enough or do I need to go further into the system settings to improve security.
Can anyone (i.e. a neighbour) easily connect to it? My computer sometimes connects to a neighbours belkin router automatically.
Can anyone see my computer when I make an online purchase?
Matt, if you search for available networks by clicking on connect to a network, it will tell you what networks are near you and their security status, including your own. (Right click on the icon bottom left of your screen that looks like 2 monitors one in front of the other). Hope that makes sense.
