Big up to ATS Denbigh!

Post by db »

The only place I could find that would even entertain tackling my 18.5" tyres.
They said they deal with commercials and farm machinery regularly.
I turned up 4.50pm, they said they'd never seen tyres like that before!!

Three of 'em were hanging off it with tyre irons at one point trying to get it off the rim  However, they did put a big graze in the rim when a tyre iron slipped :(
They quit at 5.40 with just one new tyre fitted, not even balanced
I called in this afternoon to collect them, fully fitted and balanced, the graze polished out so I could barely see it. They must have spent about 3 man-hours on them altogether and they just asked me for a tenner!!!

My local ATS do loads for me. Cheap too. They do all my MOT work too. Great bunch of lads. But they do tend to groan out load when I drive in. :thumbright:

There's nothing written on them to suggest they're a race-only tyre Dunc so I reckon plod won't know any better.
They do have a tread, not much admittedly but if you look at the modern sports bike tyres they're pretty minimalist.
Also they have 'ET STREET' on the side in huge letters :thumbright:

I agree, they look like they would be lethal in the wet  To be road legal they need to have a DOT marking on them, I would be getting them checked first before you use them. Better to be safe than have your car impounded..

I think your modern Police officer would want a closer look at those as they just look bald.

I can't wait to see the video of you trying to drive in the wet with those too.

Paul I would put those in the boot for racing and use the treads on the street, you don't want the Old Bill asking silly questions!
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

What Ivor said.

So that gives you 4 weeks to find another pair of correct sized/offset wheels. :(

I can only echo what has been already said.

When the Barracuda had that engine and a 4 speed, I drove it back from the NEC in pouring rain on 325 x 15" Hoosier Quicktimes and it was pretty undriveable. Took me forever - 45mph in the rain on the M6 - very embarassing.

I think you would be looking at a £1000 per tyre fine + points for those......it is such an obvious pull from the Rozzers.

When I saw the picture I thought they were slicks for the track.......
