Nova 396 Owner - London

Post by Alex-Nova396 »

Afternoon guys and girls

I'm Alex 24 from London.

I drive a '72 Tuxedo Black Chevy Nova running a 1972 396(402)

I'm not just a Chevy man by any means, so thought I'd sign up as this seems like a good active place... and you never know I might make the switch if the right mopar comes up.

Anyway, a brief spec of the car:

'72 402 Block
750 Holley
RPM Airgap intake
Hooker competition ceramic coated headers
Aftermarket cam (although I don't know the specs. The car came with 0 history)
TH350
10 Bolt 8.5 Open rear

I've a list as long as my arm with things want done, the next being a posi unit.

I bought her back in November as an impulse buy, a bit of a ''Bananarama! it, it looks great, sounds great. If there's any problems I'll get them fixed''

I've had a few problems but nothing unfixable. She's just finished off having an extensive wiring tidy up and I also have a brand new set of wheels and tyres sitting at home ready to go on this evening.

I'll stop blabbing, here's a few pics of her as she currently stands with the Torque thrusts that are coming off to be sold.

Welcome Alex..... :hello2:

That mate is a fantastic bit of American muscle (always had a soft spot for Nova's)!

Oh, I'm also insanely jealous that you've managed to do that at 24! :thumbright:

Was this your first foray into American cars or have you had other stuff before?

Welcome to the MMA! :thumbright:

Yep this is my first bit of muscle. My previous motor was a Focus ST500 with full Mountune Racing spec and before that was my first car, a '98 Clio.

Unfortunately the Focus had to go to fund the Nova which was a bit of a shame because I put so much time and effort into my Focus and I loved it. Never the less I don't regret it.

I've always wanted some form of muscle and as soon as this Nova popped up on the bay I knew that was the one. It was on my drive within 5 days of seeing he advert, so it was a bit of an impulse buy!

I was nearly swayed by a 65 Riviera just before I bought the focus, but the Riviera was a bit too 'nice' if you get what I mean?

Small world!

I know of another black one (69 or 70) running a 396 in Norfolk but no other black ones.

On a different note

I'd like to make a day at the Mopar nats, Are non Mopar owners welcome to display their motors?
