Looks like there are zero options for wheels with the 5 x 4" pattern other than 14" steels anyway, of course i'm only in the game five minutes so I have no idea

Very limited choice of after market wheels in 4” PCD Cragar still do them I believe. Also the tyre selection these days in 14” is really poor so its sensible to go to 15” while you’re at it. Have a look at wheel Vintiques, they used to do 15” wheels in 4” PCD and a selection of widths.

There is an option to change to 5 x 4.5" I assume but I imagine that to be less than straight forward.
Is it post 72 cars or disc brake conversions and axle shafts.

Yes you can convert to 4.5” PCD or large stud pattern as it’s commonly called, there are various ways to do it. If you have access to a competent machine shop, it is possible to redrill the front hubs and rear halfshafts to large stud pattern. Due to space constraints you keep the stud size at 7/16” and use high tensile cap screws as wheel studs rather than press in. Large stud pattern has 1/2” studs normally but there’s very little space to achieve that, its no big deal, I had it done years ago.
If you’re on drums, a disc brake swap either with stock parts from a later car or an aftermarket kit will get you large pattern on the front. Later drum brake cars retained small stud pattern. A later A body 8 1/4” rear axle is large stud pattern and is a straight bolt in if you can find one these days.
Once you’re on large stud pattern the world’s your lobster when it comes to wheel choice so it usually makes sense to do it depending on what plans you have for the car.

8 3/4” axles which are the common mopar performance axle never came in large stud pattern and A body width, are very hard to find now and expensive when you do. Large stud pattern aftermarket shafts are available for them though, but not for the small 7 1/4” axle (which I assume you have) as far as I’m aware. Converting a Ford Explorer rear axle to fit is another popular option, they are also 4.5” PCD.

I like the look of steel and hubcaps.
Are 15's with the small stud pattern still available in the states, summit had some on the website, would cost well over a grand with shopping and tax.
I'll only need one set.....
I could do the other stuff later, axle wise I believe a 7.25 might be ok if I'm not racing eh!
Would like to get some more power just to keep up with more stuff on the road.

Again Chris could supply the wheels from Summit at a far cheaper cost than bringing them in yourself, I very rarely deal directly with the States anymore.

Are adaptor plates frowned upon, I don't really like the idea and the backspacing would be affected, an easy solution though.
Ill get in touch with GAS at some point when i've got a list together, hopefully not a long list for now

The problem with adapters is you are losing about 3/4” of valuable space, especially at the rear where things are really tight on a Dart to start with.
