Dunno James, depends if Stu can get the trans line re-shaped/re-routed to clear the exhaust, and also if the park mechanism gasket survives being removed again [-o<

Just bits n bobs really, I'll wait n see who's there and what there is for sale.

We thought of getting some carpet material (same as in the car) and making mats for front & reat, so I emailed Legendary to ask if they'd have some material there I could buy.

This is what we have to contend with......

Reply comes back:

"Hi .. we can get you the mats you are looking for .. please call me so I can place this order for you .. the cost for the mats would be $85.00 for the set of 4 .. Thanks .. Dick" (bear in mind i specifically asked if they'd have the right material at the show that I could take away with me)

My reply:
"Thanks for the quick reply!
Do you mean you have, or can get mats cuts to size, to suit our car (63 Polara 500)?
Are they the same red tux material as our carpet & as on our recently purchased seat covers?
Do you have any pics, and/or dimensions? Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure they are what we want before ordering."

His reply:
"Hi .. these are a universail set of mats .. and if you purchased the original carpet from us they will be the same shade .. they are also a custom made set .. Thanks .. Dick"

 universal or custom? bit confusing but...

My reply:
"Dick, I believe the carpet was purchased from yourselves - it was fitted just before we bought the car. But the carpet material on the new seat covers is a good match, so I'm happy to assume it was.
1. Can you confirm there are 2x small mats for the rear and 2x larger mats for the front?
2. I would also be interested in getting the same for our 69 Sport Satellite, which has a plain black carpet. Would that be a universal set too?
3. I was in two minds whether to get carpet material mats or rubber mats. Do you have any rubber mats tailored to suit these 2 cars, that you would have with you at Vegas for me to look at?"

Dick again:
"Hi .. we can do the same in black for the other car .. it would be $65.00 for the set .. and yes there are two for the front and two for the rear .. no rubber for either one .. we will not have them at the show .. Thanks .. Dick

It must take a special kind of intelligence to leave out important bits of information with every answer - just enough so I have to ask the question again without making a nuisance of meself

Me:
"Dick, If I ordered the carpet floor mats this week (1x Dodge, 1x Plymouth) could I collect them at the show? That would save me a lot on shipping.
Please clarify it's just the rubber mats that you will not have at the show."

Remember how this started - asking if they would have carpet at the show that I could buy....

Last reply I had from DICK...

"Hi .. sorry we canot take any orders with us to the show .. we have changed the type of truck we are driving and there is no room for them .. Thanks .. Dick"

I havent bothered responding to that one :thunder:

What, you mean for the park mechanism 'hiccup'? Nah, I cant complain as I wasnt even there  and it's him that's got to drain the sump again #-o
Only prob is if the (park mech) gasket doesnt survive, we'll have to buy a full set, as Blue donated this one :notworthy:

Had the old girl (erm, the car, that is :?) out for a blast today - just to make sure nothing was gonna fall off, and to see/hear what the TTI system was like 8-)

Gave it a bit more tweakage first tho, as once the car was back on the garage floor, the tips needed a bit more adjustment to get them level.

They stick out beyond the bumper more than we'd have liked, but thats as far back as they go :?

Stu had already finished off the other odds'n'ends we'd been tinkering with since last Oct when we last used it.

I'm sure I'll miss some, but since then we've replaced/refurbed/added:
New prop & U-J
5 new seat belts
Front & rear seat covers & foam
Front & rear door panels
Door locks
Interior door & window handles (new parts picked up from Vegas/M.A.T.S.)
Door fuzzies & weatherstrip
Door & window mechanisms lubed/repaired
TTI system from headers/manifolds back
Park mechanism & sumps gaskets replaced
K&N filters
Fitted dog-dishes that we've had for a couple of years. Not correct for the year, but neither were 15" wheels, so what the hey....

Havent changed the instrument cluster over yet - we'll look into that over the next few weeks probably, once we know exactly whats involved. Only the speedo doesnt work at the mo - dont want to end up with NO working gauges

Test drive went ok - driveline vibration seems to be better with the new prop, but the Dynomax mufflers dont half drone up to about 2000rpm  and cause an annoying rattling somewhere in the dash..... so all in all, prob no better off than the old (quieter) exh & wobbly prop :thunder: gawd knows what Flowmaster would be like (an option on the TTI system) as theyre supposed to be louder

More pics of the interior too, but this was the first time it had seen daylight since the new bits went in. Sorry if there's too many - couldnt decide which to include so put em all on 8-[

Dont hold back, anti steels'n'dog dish club members........ :blah:

Looking great!! Nice work :thumbright: :thumbright:

Hmm, I have had many similar e-mail 'conversations' with people. What is it with people who don't read what you ask (usually very clearly due to prior experience), so effectively prolong the email trail to the point where they are probably thinking, 'grief, this person asks a lot of questions', when if they'd just answered what was asked it could have been over and done with.........
Very frustrating, far too common!! =P~

Thanks Gav'n'Adam :thumbright:

Spose they dont stick out toooo far, it's just that they stick out more than the ones we removed, and had been used to looking at for 3 1/2 years :-k

Havent seen any pics of other 63 dodges with a TTI system to compare.... :tumbleweed:
