Roger if you remove the torsion bar bolt in the lower control arm you can rotate the hex knuckle on the lca till i lines up. You can also remove the tie rod to allow the lca to lower further till you can get the torsion bar in and the put a jack under the lca to get it back to the correct position.
The position on the hex shouldn't make any difference.

Hi Anton, you are indeed correct, and thats what i have done (ive posted in the suspension section), but then you cant lift the arm up far enough, even with a jack to get th upper arm ball joint into to the spindle. Just starts lifting the car!

Ive since discovered, that the originals have the hex offset end to end by 30 degrees. These dont, which effectively means the hex is 30 degrees out. No wonder i was struggling!!!!

Aftermarket torsion bar fitment abandoned. I found the originals, cleaned them up and painted them.

Fitting time - 10 mins :) Aftermarket tat to the bin!

More underside stuff being fitted. Exhaust is proving - er - entertaining. Hoping to have it back on its wheels tommorow :)

Pics to follow if succesful.

Also, to improve my plating ive bought an ultrasonic cleaning tank. Why oh why did i not buy one before!!! What a tool:):):)

Time for some pics :)

Exhaust and assorted other stuff fitted underneath. Sore neck now :( I remember why i have ramps at work!

Anyway with that all done it was time to drop it back on its wheels for the first time in over 11 years!!!!!

Little low at the front at the moment, (needs adjusting) little high at the rear (lack of weight).

Damn camera shows up all that dust underneath. Will have to get the duster out.
