Pucker!...now thats gonna be one car to watch leave the line I reckon....just don't use the brake till you got it dialed in a bit.....if you find your hitting the tyres too hard, move the bars Down 1 hole and mess with the shocks.....no predictions from me on this one 9.90's ..oops
sorry off topic a bit Paul

Always be conservative on ET's Pete, don't expect too much and you won't be dissapointed, from 10.60 to 9.90 is a big jump, bad tyres etc or not, ultimately its got mid 9's potential from what I know of it, maybe more? but thats with revving it well past 7000rpm to use all the power unless you've changed the cam. Its mph from before was 129, that will demonstrate its potential regardless of the ET, 129 is around 10.1...but its now lighter....Only my thoughts of course, maybe I should keep them to myself?...hope it does run 9.5 for you.
Ta, It's good to see more in-car footage.
There's such a lot I don't know about launch and shifting technique.
The guy in the 55 had his throttle foot to the floor but I thought the Camaro driver lifted at each shift.
I don't think I'll be launching quite that hard with a stock clutch, MT Sportsmans and a 180 mile drive home after
It is a shame in a way that your not already Auto Paul with your current set up, as in most cases, its just a full Manual rebuild and a change from a street/strip to a Race Converter and off you go on those 12'0's or 11 sec runs.
4spds can make life difficult and be very hard on parts, and if your not brutal with it all, getting an ET that the car is capable of is hard, but not impossible.
If your happy just driving on the road and the odd trip down the track, leave well alone, there is a certain magic with a 4spd...as was with my '65 Stang and the brown '71.
Axle update-
Having been horrified by the price of Green bearings (almost 90 quid the pair!) I investigated further and found the axle case had rust patches right where the O-rings sit!
I've cleaned them up carefully with Scotchbrite and although the O-rings don't look damaged I'll replace them.
The fluid was pretty contaminated and there was swarf on the magnetic drain plug, so it's all had a thorough clean out
