Went out in the car last night to a local Bill Bailey gig.
He was funny as hell and the car was great fun!
I took 3 mates. Fi and Jen had never been in my car so it was a real buzz to show off a bit!
It was sulking a bit cos I'd fitted my 2" carb spacer (thanks to Bozwell's 4" studs) and my new 4" K&N but didn't have time to up-jet it
I've also fitted my new Thermostat housing from Trev so no more water leaks.

The shift lever i bought turned out to be wrong so i tweaked it a bit.
It needed to come back 3" and 2" to the left.
I grabbed it in the vice and hung a plumb line from the end of a screwdriver i stuck in the shelf above to mark where i wanted it to end up. I'd ground the chrome off and sliced nearly all the way through it with my trusty grinder so i could easily bend it into place.
I welded it up and even though the join is hidden under the boot, i gave it a squirt of chrome paint... jobs a good-un

Thanks Dave- the area to the top left of the bolt contacts the inlet casting to stop it twisting.
Drew- if by 'proper tools' you mean a hammer, an angle grinder and a hand drill...

Will- I knocked it up out of a bit of old stainless. The finish is scotchbrite & WD40.

Well now I've at last CURED the big leak from the gearbox input shaft, I can see all the minor leaks!!
I've replaced 2 oil seals on the shift pivots, the seal on the neutral switch, PTFE'd the drain and fill plugs and popped off the side casing and siliconed it (quite a challenge with the gearbox still in the car!)
I took it out for a blast today and the trans appears to be completely oil-tight now
I've done a bit of jetting too- idle screws out 1/2 turn and up 2 sizes on both main jets. Doesn't that say a lot about the K&N filter!
