I'd love to have one of those cars - and of course the one with the Hemi would be first choice!morgan wrote:Better than evens chance I would say. I do know I can't/shouldn't afford it though....
There was a very cool 't' for sale fairly recently (black one with skulls?) that I quite liked but Andromeda and Revenge came onto the scene in my early teens so really left their mark in my memory.
Those and the mid-mounted V8 milk float that was around at the time....!
Yup a boyhood dream that car. Saw that at some of the '70s shows (Ally Pally?). Correct is was on the cover of #1 HR&C UK. Agree with Blue that the standard of those Nick B cars was incredible, especially when you saw some (not all but probably most) of its contemporaries.
Agree it would be interesting to know where he got the original motor from. Even though the car is an important piece of British Hot Rodding history, if that motor was ever able to be reunited with it's original donor it could be worth significantly more than "just a Hemi"

Great car used to turn up at hickstead once or twice in the nineties when I was a kid think it had some sort of accident pulling away from there? There's a great book called street rod and custom showtime which tells the story of British show cars from the 70s and 80s sat in revenge c cab at the supernats couple of years ago blown rat motor it was loud cheers all.....

Dont know if its this one,but theres one hot rod with a hemi, and the numbers are ground off the block.
Also heard a story about some yank wanting the numbers matching block for his cuda/challenger from a rod over here, and offering a new crate 528 hemi for the block
and apparently the rod owner said it wasnt worth the hassle.could be just a tale

Dave, i bought a load of hemi gear from ash bell the hemi block had some damage but repaired to a good standard, anyway i sold all that stuff to a guy from norfolk he was fitting it in a cobra, did his research it turned out to be the matching block to a 60,s superstocker the then owner of said superstocker bought the norfolk guy a 528 short mtr as swap, thats that one. the otherDaveB wrote:Dont know if its this one,but theres one hot rod with a hemi, and the numbers are ground off the block.

I think goes like this the boss man jim wilson asked hauser if ever a hemi turned up please let him have the no,s just in case his cuda hemi turned up, low n behold one turned up for a build jim got the numbers and they turned out to be the block from that yellow ta looking hemi challenger that hot car had a hand in early 80,s then got restored by richard ward the chally by now was stateside but the guy did not want the original block or would not pay enough for it so that is in a rod down south i think the guy was a custom painter on choppers etc,,,
